Aa Kirke

Aa Church

Months ago I took some photos of Aa Church. It is , in my opinion, a rather impressive building.
The nave and the choir are from ca. 1150, the tower is builded later. I have been told, that Aa Church and Østermarie Church (now a ruin) are very rare, they originally had two aisles, the most common are either one or the basilica type with three aisles. The inside is rebuilded it is a pity.

I agree with you, Margit. Very impressive building indeed. And I am fascinated that there seem to be influences in the details from several different cultures. What a treasure - I am so glad it is still with us!
